  • Clients must be over the age of 18 to be treated at DermAesthetics, this is a legal requirement. Clients may be asked to prove their age with government approved identification if they look under the age of 25.

  • Yes! If a client has not followed the pre-treatment instructions, they will be refused treatment. If aftercare advise is not followed it will severely impact on both the results and the healing process.

  • Our lead practitioner is extremely gentle and with an extensive background in phlebotomy-based treatments has a very steady hand. In addition to this, EMLA (lidocaine based numbing cream) is applied to sensitive areas and some products also contain lidocaine-based anaesthetic, this means that anaesthetic is working from the outside and the inside simultaneously and helps reduce discomfort significantly. Individual tolerance levels, the treatment that is being carried out and underlaying medical conditions mean that there is no β€˜one size fits everyone’ answer to this question but rest assured, our team will do everything they possibly can to ensure that the treatment is as comfortable as possible.

  • Yes! Of course! A 30-minute consultation takes place prior to any treatment, in this time we carefully assess and examine the proposed treatment area before discussing what our clients would like to achieve in great depth. If a client would rather not have the discussed treatment following the consultation there is no obligation to do so.

  • Yes! Of course! At DermAesthetics we specialise in natural transformations!

  • Our client’s medical history will be taken during the consultation process immediately before the proposed treatment takes place to assess suitability for the desired treatment and in order for us to deliver safe, effective treatments and the correct advice. If a client has a long-term medical condition or is taking long term medication it is advisable to discuss the desired treatment with their GP prior to their appointment and to request a letter stating that it is safe to carry out the treatment.

  • Yes, of course! At DermAesthetics we understand that having aesthetic-based treatments can be a daunting experience and if clients want to have a friend accompany them to help ease their nerves, we will welcome them with open arms!

  • At DermAesthetics we want clients to feel re-assured, relaxed and well looked after. Clients will never feel rushed at DermAesthetics because we allow a minimum of one hour per client in order to attentively establish what the client wants to achieve and to enable us to deliver the treatment in a precise and safe manner.

  • Yes! Of course! Our team are always happy to assess any worries or concerns - even if we did not carry out the treatment! Our clinic is available for emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 07400655655.

  • Unfortunately, we are un-able to correct work that was done elsewhere. As soon as we take on the work, the liability would be transferred onto us and we do not know how the previous treatment was carried out and what products were used.

  • A minimum of two weeks is required between any injectable treatment to allow time for swelling, trauma and bruising to subside - the exact time frame however, depends on what treatment was carried out.

  • NO! It is extremely un-professional to treat a client at their house. It is important that treatments are carried out in an extremely sterile setting with suitable, clinical lighting. In addition to this, the products that are used in aesthetic-based treatments must be kept at the correct temperature which can become an issue when transporting them from a clinic to a residential address. Insurance policies also clearly state that procedures must be carried out at a licensed premise so will therefore be void when a treatment is performed remotely at somebodies’ house therefore making it unlawful to do so.

  • Our premium products are purchased in bulk and we work alongside a network of prescribing nurses to purchase our stock at the best prices available, this allows us to pass those savings directly onto our clients without compromising on quality. Our clinic also adopts a strict β€˜less is more’ policy, we believe that if a product is placed correctly, less product will be required. Our team will always do our best to help clients achieve their desired look in the most cost-effective way possible.

  • Unfortunately, due to the way our appointments are structured this is not possible. Clients are however welcome to re-book for an alternative date.

  • Unfortunately, we do not offer finance for our treatments.

  • Our clinics prefer payment via bank transfer to our business bank account, if this is not possible, we also accept cash.

  • Yes! Our clinics reward loyalty! Loyalty cards and referral cards are available at our clinics.

QUESTIONS ABOUT DERMAL FILLERS

  • Yes, other brands of dermal filler can be ordered on request, however - they must be stocked and dispensed through a reputable pharmacy.

  • Sorry - as responsible injectors, we do not offer β€˜Russian Lips.’ β€˜Russian Lips’ are a marketing term which refer to a technique known as tenting. β€˜Russian Lips’ almost always lead to some degree of filler migrating into the upper lip and flatten lip tubercles which can interfere with normal lip function. In addition to this, the technique tends to cause much more trauma, discomfort, bruising and swelling than any other technique.

  • Although the general rule of thumb most practitioners abide too is two weeks, hyaluronidase - the enzyme used to dissolve dermal filler, can also break down the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid found in the treated area as well, we suggest waiting six-eight weeks to allow time for the body’s own production of hyaluronic acid to be restored before re-filling that area with dermal filler.

  • At DermAesthetics, we always eject the first 0.1ml of dermal filler from a syringe to check the product and to ensure that it is fit for purpose. Creating a small space in the syringe also helps to secure the plunger and allow for enough room to aspirate on the first injection. Client safety is of paramount importance to us and 0.1ml of dermal filler is an extremely minuscule amount that would not make any noticeable difference to the final results of the proposed treatment.

  • NO! It is important to understand that administering large volumes of dermal filler in one sitting comes with a much higher risk of complications. Injecting 2ml into the lips in one sitting will almost certainly lead to some level of dermal filler breaching the vermillion border and migrating outside of the lips due to the excessive pressure created inside the lips (this causes a puffy β€˜duck’ appearance) and it can also lead to the formation of nodules and lumps. It is important to be patient when building up dermal filler and allow the surrounding tissues to adapt to the extra volume. It is also much safer to inject lower volumes at a time and significantly reduces the risk of a vascular compression.

  • Although the general rule of thumb most practitioners abide too is two weeks, we will not re-fill an area for a minimum of six weeks, this allows time for the tissue to adapt to the extra volume and for stubborn swelling to subside. If a client was treated using a different product, they must wait a minimum of eight weeks before having an area re-filled.

  • NO! Once a syringe has been opened for a treatment, due to bacterial growth and the risk of contamination from bodily fluids, the syringe and the left-over dermal filler will be discarded immediately. Storing dermal filler in refrigeration could lead to the dermal filler forming crystals. If this happens it could affect the rheology (the flow of the dermal filler) rendering it no longer fit for purpose.

  • Yes, dermal fillers are FDA approved which means that data on the products effects have been reviewed and are determined to provide the stated benefits.

  • Since hyaluronic acid - the primary component that is found in dermal fillers, is something that the body creates naturally, the body will also naturally metabolize it, this means that the body will also break down the hyaluronic acid from dermal fillers.

  • As an FDA approved treatment, the application of dermal fillers is relatively safe when administered by a fully qualified and experienced practitioner but as with any injectable procedure there will always be some degree of risk involved, however small.

QUESTIONS ABOUT ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS

  • Yes, other brands of anti-wrinkle injections can be ordered on request, however - they must be stocked and dispensed through a reputable pharmacy.

  • As injectable treatments for the relaxation of muscles, both products work similarly - they both contain very small doses of botulinum toxin type a, which inhibits the stimulation of nerves, with the effect of relaxing the muscles. Azzalure spreads a bit farther from the injection site than Botox which is an advantage, as fewer injections are typically required, which results in less discomfort for the client.

  • Absolutely not - in actual fact the opposite is true. Once the area treated with anti-wrinkle injections has not been active for several months, the skin would have had time to recover significantly. In addition to this, the wrinkles that were present before the treatment would not have deepened, because it would not have been possible to have used the muscles responsible, delaying the ageing process. Clients who have been treated with anti-wrinkle injections also tend to lose the habit of using the facial muscles which cause wrinkles, so contract those muscles less in the future too. So, no - wrinkles will not suddenly develop over night to make up for lost time, the skin would have been protected whilst the anti-wrinkle injections were active, and the muscles responsible for wrinkle formation will be used less moving forward - leading to a delay in the formation of wrinkles.

  • It would be difficult to recommend a precise and generic age to start treatment with anti-wrinkle injections due to individual factors and preferences. It is instead important to understand how wrinkles form and skin aging works. You can categorise wrinkles as β€˜dynamic’ (forming with a facial expression) or β€˜static’ (always visible, even at rest). As we age, our skin loses elasticity and collagen and thins due to the decrease in collagen production and a loss of fat in the deeper layers of the skin. Analogously, imagine a child’s skin as a sheet of rubber and an adult’s skin as a sheet of A4 paper. If the sheet of rubber is folded, it springs back, and cannot be compressed enough to form a crease. In comparison, the sheet of A4 paper can easily be folded flat, due to its lack of structural support - thus, creating a crease that stays, even when the sheet of A4 paper is un-folded again. It is a common misconception that anti-wrinkle injections β€˜smooth out’ existing β€˜static’ wrinkles (skin damage). Instead, what anti-wrinkle injections do - is reduce our muscles ability to form β€˜dynamic’ wrinkles, thus protecting our skin from further damage, and preventing the formation of β€˜static’ wrinkles. Any β€˜dynamic’ wrinkle that forms when making a facial expression will eventually evolve into a β€˜static’ wrinkle if left un-treated, and it is advisable to begin treatment with anti-wrinkle injections as soon as a β€˜static wrinkle’ begins to form.

  • Unfortunately, not, whilst every attempt is made to achieve optimal results during the initial treatment - it is crucial for the product to be administered conservatively to achieve natural-looking results, while minimizing risks. If excessive product is administered in one sitting, it can lead to undesirable effects such as muscle weakness, which can cause heaviness and drooping.

  • Yes, absolutely! Anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing the muscles, which can be helpful in many medical applications. Common medical conditions that are often treated with anti-wrinkle injections include chronic migraines, bruxism (teeth grinding), and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

  • Anti-wrinkle injections target and inhibit muscle movement, whereas dermal fillers add volume beneath the skin and are used to augment shape. Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers complement each other well, and it can be advantageous to combine both treatments for an optimal cosmetic outcome.

  • It is advisable to schedule anti-wrinkle injections for approximately four weeks prior to any special events - this allows enough time for an initial treatment, followed by a top-up (if necessary). It also provides sufficient time for any potential swelling or bruising to subside and for the full effects of the treatment to become apparent.

  • Yes, anti-wrinkle injections are FDA approved which means that data on the products effects have been reviewed and are determined to provide the stated benefits.

  • Our bodies constantly create new neurotransmitters and as these chemicals start circulating around the body again, the effects of the anti-wrinkle injections will start to diminish.

  • As an FDA approved treatment, the application of anti-wrinkle injections is relatively safe when administered by a fully qualified and experienced practitioner but as with any injectable procedure there will always be some degree of risk involved, however small.

QUESTIONS ABOUT SKIN BOOSTING INJECTIONS

  • Yes! Although both products contain the same active molecule – hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers also contain cross linking molecules known as BDDE (1,4-butanediol diglycidyl) - this holds the hyaluronic acid molecules together. Skin boosting injections are instead stabilised by weaker hydrogen bonds - this allows the body to easily break it down and absorb it. If the goal is to create definition and volume - dermal fillers are required. If the goal is to hydrate, moisturise and revitalise the skin without altering facial features - skin boosting injections are required.

  • Yes, skin boosting injections are considered effective for treating acne-prone skin and scarring because it boosts collagen production and helps the skin rise and firm. Collagen is essential for optimum skin health- ensuring the skin can repair itself when damaged. An adequate supply of collagen is essential to enable acne scars to heal properly.

  • Yes, skin boosting injections are FDA approved which means that data on the products effects have been reviewed and are determined to provide the stated benefits.

  • Since both polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid - the primary components that are found in skin boosting injections, are something that the body creates naturally, the body will also naturally metabolize it, this means that the body will also break down the polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid from skin boosting injections.

  • As an FDA approved treatment, the application of skin boosting injections are relatively safe when administered by a fully qualified and experienced practitioner but as with any injectable procedure there will always be some degree of risk involved, however small.

QUESTIONS ABOUT FAT DISSOLVING INJECTIONS

  • Aqualyx contains a synthetic version of deoxycholic acid - this can cause side effects such as swelling, redness, and pain in the treated area. In some cases, it can even cause severe allergic reactions that require immediate medical attention. Lemon Bottle however, does not contain deoxycholic acid and instead only contains natural ingredients, making it safer and more comfortable to be treated with.

  • If a client is considerably over weight, fat dissolving injections will not be appropriate, as they are not designed for weight management. An ideal candidate for fat dissolving injections is somebody who is already close to their target weight, but struggles with stubborn pockets of localized fat - such as in the hips, abdomen, or under the chin. Addressing this stubborn adipose tissue often requires a multifaceted approach - including a balanced diet and regular exercise, alongside targeted interventions such as fat dissolving injections.

  • As a relatively new product manufactured by lead scientists, dermatologists and plastic surgeons - clinical studies into the effectiveness of Lemon Bottle specifically are on-going, there are however, numerous clinical studies that cite the effectiveness of the individual ingredients within the solution in relation to fat loss (bromelain, riboflavin and lecithin) - that can be found using the search function here.

  • Yes, fat dissolving injections permanently destroy fat molecules, but they will not stop new fat molecules from forming if body fat composition is not maintained.

  • As a product that contains only naturally occurring ingredients, the application of fat dissolving injections is relatively safe when administered by a fully qualified and experienced practitioner but as with any injectable procedure there will always be some degree of risk involved, however small.

QUESTIONS ABOUT PRP INJECTIONS - FOR HAIR LOSS

  • It is common for clients to temporarily shed some hair after having PRP injections, this is because the hair follicles become stimulated and older hair shafts are pushed out to be replaced with new, healthier and thicker hair.

  • Yes! PRP will aid in the stimulation of hair growth after hair transplants - increasing hair density.

  • Yes, there is a lot of evidence that demonstrates the effectiveness of PRP and a lot of scientific studies have been carried out to assess the benefits. You can view one such study here.

  • Our hair follicles require a rich and steady blood supply, full of nutrients and growth factors to maintain optimum health, hair follicles will therefore continue to absorb the administered plasma until it has been fully utilised.

  • Yes, as the plasma comes from the client’s own body the risk of an allergic reaction or infection is almost nil.

QUESTIONS ABOUT VITAMIN INJECTIONS

  • Injectable vitamins have a higher bioavailability compared to oral supplements, as they avoid digestion and metabolism in the liver by entering the bloodstream directly - allowing for rapid absorption and utilization by the body.

  • Yes and no. Whilst it is true that some foods contain vitamin B12, a vast amount would need to be consumed in order to achieve the same effect. In one large egg (for example), there is 0.6mcg of vitamin B12. In addition to this, the absorption rate of vitamin B12 from eggs is estimated to be around 50%. In this instance - the vitamin B12 acquired from one injection would be equivalent to the vitamin B12 acquired from the consumption of 334 large eggs!

  • Yes, Neo-Cytamen is FDA approved which means that data on the products effects have been reviewed and are determined to provide the stated benefits.

  • Our bodies cells and tissues require a readily available supply of vitamin B12 in order to use and harness its benefits - the body will therefore continue to absorb the administered vitamin B12 until it has been fully metabolised and utilised.

  • As an FDA approved treatment, the application of vitamin injections is relatively safe when administered by a fully qualified and experienced practitioner but as with any injectable procedure there will always be some degree of risk involved, however small.

QUESTIONS ABOUT PLASMA FIBROBLAST

  • Unfortunately, it is not. Clients with darker skin tones may have a higher risk of developing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) or hypopigmentation following the treatment. If a client scores IV - VI on the Fitzpatrick scale (medium to very brown skin) we will be un-able to treat them.

  • Yes, absolutely! Anti-wrinkle treatments in particular complement plasma fibroblast treatments extremely well. If combined, anti-wrinkle injections and plasma fibroblast therapy can address different aspects of facial aging comprehensively. Anti-wrinkle injections target the formation of wrinkles caused by repetitive muscle movements, whilst plasma fibroblast therapy can improve skin laxity, texture, and the reduction of fine lines through the promotion of collagen production and skin tightening.

  • Yes, plasma fibroblast is an FDA approved treatment which means that data on the treatment’s effects have been reviewed and are determined to provide the stated benefits.

  • Although the treatment itself does in fact produce permanent results, the skin will continue to age naturally, meaning that the longevity of the results will be determined by external factors relating to the natural aging process of the treated area.

  • As an FDA approved treatment, the administration of plasma fibroblast is relatively safe when administered by a fully qualified and experienced practitioner but as with any cosmetic procedure there will always be some degree of risk involved, however small.
