VITAMIN INJECTIONS

You must not use any NSAIDs or blood thinning supplements for at least one week before the treatment and discontinue the consumption of alcohol and caffeine for at least 72 hours before the treatment - the chemicals in these products have a blood thinning effect on the body, reducing its ability to clot and exacerbating bruising and swelling.

You must drink plenty of water (4-5 litres, daily) and must not consume alcohol, caffeine or foods with diuretic or dehydrating effects on the body for at least 72 hours before the treatment - water is a major component of the blood and dehydration reduces the bodies blood volume, which reduces oxygen and nutrient delivery to the wound bed, impairing wound healing and therefore recovery.

You should avoid or limit cigarettes and vapes where possible for as long as possible before the treatment - smoking reduces the amount of oxygen in the blood and narrows the blood vessels, impairing wound healing and therefore recovery.

You may start supplementation with Arnica tablets 72 hours before the treatment, as directed by the manufacturer. Arnica is believed to lead to vasodilation, the opening of blood vessels - this inhibits blood and other fluids from accumulating in the treated area, which helps to reduce swelling and enables the body to re-absorb any bruising.

You may be refused treatment if you are taking long term medication or have ever been diagnosed with a long-term medical condition and do not have a doctor’s note stating that it is safe to be treated for the proposed treatment - this is for your safety.
You will also need a doctor’s note if you are due to have an operation or start medical treatment in the next four weeks.

You will be refused treatment if you have had an operation or any cosmetic or medical procedure in the last four weeks - this is to mitigate the risk of post-treatment complications.
If an operation or any cosmetic or medical procedure was performed in close proximity to the proposed treatment area - a doctor’s note stating that it is safe to be treated for the proposed treatment will also be required.

You will be refused treatment if you have ever had a bad reaction to a cosmetic procedure - this is to mitigate the risk of a bad reaction occurring again.

You will be refused treatment if you have an active infection, are currently taking anti-biotics or have taken anti-biotics in the last four weeks - this is because active infections can spread and lead to localised infections in the area treated, which can lead to scarring.

You will be refused treatment if you come to your appointment with topical or local anaesthetic already administered or have had topical or local anaesthetic administered in the last 24 hours - this is because we do not know what has been administered or how it has been applied and some anaesthetics can be dangerous or make the treatment difficult.
Our clinics use an FDA approved topical anaesthetic where required and apply this to the treatment area in a manner that enables optimum efficiency.

You will be refused treatment if you are pregnant, on IVF or breastfeeding - this is a preventative measure to safeguard the health of your child.

You will be refused treatment if you feel ill or un-well - this is because there is a remote possibility of the illness developing into an infection, infections can spread and lead to localised infections in the area treated.

You will be refused treatment if you do not have valid ID to prove that you are over 18 and look underage - this is a legal requirement.

You will be refused treatment if you come to your appointment without a means of paying, this can be through bank transfer or cash.

It is advisable to consume a meal containing plenty of protein and whole-grain carbohydrates, two hours before the treatment - this may prevent you from feeling light-headed or faint during the treatment.
